Youth Corral Our Youth Program is designed to enlighten young people about the current plight of the American horse, provide physical activity away from computers and television, and teach responsibility, compassion, and the innate connection between humans, horses and nature.
"Park Project" - Madison and Johnson Family
Jessica (on the left) is a 3rd grader at Sahuarita Intermediate School in Sahuarita, AZ.
When I took Jessica to Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary™, Inc. she was excited to meet all the rescued horses, especially the "Pony Skin" foals. When you brought up the idea of naming a horse she loved the idea. She got up in front of her class of 26 students and explained that there was a filly at your ranch that needed a name and then she asked the kids in her class to come up with some ideas. The top four names were Brownie, Butterscotch, Hadley, and Haley. The kids did a “closed eyed” vote to pick the winner, which was Brownie. Her teacher Ms. Zimmerman, drew a picture of the horse on a large sheet of paper. Jessica and two of her good friends colored the pictures and then all the kids signed it. Jessica says “it was fun voting and coloring the picture of the horse. I think people enjoyed doing the project.” The timing was perfect, as the day we wanted to present the banner, Angie and Danny Dyson were at the ranch picking up "Brownie" to take her to her new home.
