Freedom was rescued recently after Equine Voices received a call by his owner asking for help. She recently lost her husband and is losing her home. Freedom was loved, but his owner was limited in her knowledge of how to properly care for a donkey. Freedom’s feet had not been trimmed in months; he was fed only alfalfa, had a horrible wound on his leg, and lived in a space the size of a bed of a pick-up truck.

Freedom now roams the ranch, and is becoming one of the volunteers’ favorite pals.
