Re: Billie Stanton’s Aug. 7 column “Hormone therapy hurts women, horses”:
Thank you for bringing this important issue to the attention of the public.
I don’t think most women and even their doctors appreciate how horses suffer in the hormone-producing pharmaceutical industry.
I had to tell my own doctor I refused it take it because of the suffering of the horses. She didn’t know.
Thank you also for crediting Equine Voices, a great horse rescue that has advanced the cause not only for horses from the Premarin industry, but also for wild horses legislation and legislation in Congress to ban horse slaughter.
Karen Pomroy’s Equine Voices is a real asset to the Tucson community, and I hope people visit the Web site you referenced in the column and make a donation.
Each donation helps rescue and provide homes for more discarded Premarin horses.
