Howdy again Karen,

I would like to thank you once again for all of your kindness and hospitality in allowing us, The Saguaro Horsemen's Group, to visit the ranch in Amado yesterday Nov. 12th.

The new Visitor Center is beautiful, and was a pleasant and comfortable place to hold our monthly PotLuck Lunch and regular business meeting. Really appreciated it !!

We especially enjoyed the video, and having the chance to hear you speak about the history of Equine Voices, from the humble beginnings in 2004 through all of the challenges and successes that have marked these past 19 years. So pleased that you also took the time to answer everyone's questions, and even expanded in detail when explaining the  horrors of the Premarin crisis.

The walking tour was nice, although short... but perhaps next time we will have our members more prepared for the full walkabout.

Karen, you made a nice impression on our group... I know that several of them will be making individual donations... in addition to those of us who are already doing so. We will also decide on a group donation sometime early next year.

You deserve a lot of credit for sticking to your vision, and for making responsible and savvy decisions regarding Equine Voices. True leadership! The Mustang Barn, Visitor Center, and many of the projects we saw in the 10 acre "expansion" stand as a true testament to dedication and hard work. Keep it going strong...

Once again, a hearty thank you from the small but mighty "13" of our members who had such a great time during our visit.

Dear Diane…yesterday was marvelous and the horses were beautiful…each and every one.  Not only is Sue a lovely person, but she taught us so much on our tour and it was a joy to meet someone who adored the horses so much.  Thanks for hosting us and I am wishing you and the sanctuary the very best.  I will come back to see you again.

It was such a pleasure meeting you both yesterday, as well as all the precious horses/burros and adorable little Jack! 

Diane, thank you for the entertaining and informative tour of the amazing ranch. Some of the stories surrounding those horses are horrific, but the amazing hard work you all do for them is just magical. Running that organization TAKES organization, and I could see there is a very effective system in place. Between that and the huge hearts of the staff and volunteers, Equine Voices is obviously a tremendous success. 

One thing I thought of through the night is that I didn't meet Angelique's tiny admirer, PT. I hope he is okay? (He is just fine)

"Thank you, Diane, for the great tour this morning.  It was wonderful  to see all the beautiful creatures I had seen only in the newsletter.  The staff and volunteers do a spectacular job scheduling and carrying out all the different jobs necessary to keep the horses in good health.  I was greatly impressed with the different diets of all the horses and how twice a day they were fed their specialized diets.  I will again encourage my family members to read the newsletters and hopefully donate some to their upkeep.

“Our kids go to Desert Christian School, and one of the neat things we do each year is to devote a whole week to missions in our community. We like to focus on serving others and it creates great memories for the kids in doing so!

The reason I chose to contact equine voices is because I had a personal experience with the ranch probably about 12 years ago. I’ve always had a love for horses and at that time in my life I was a young wife and it wasn’t realistic for us to get into the horse ownership lifestyle. I began volunteering on a weekly basis to get my “horse fix” and contribute to saving horses, which is something I feel passionate about! I had such an amazing experience and looked SO forward to my time out there each week. I fell completely in love with the horses, Spanky specifically!! We still have a framed picture of him in our home to this day!! I’m happy to say all these years later, once we were finished having children…we bought our first horse. We just celebrated 4 years of her being in our life. She wasn’t technically a rescue…but she was used hard as a work horse day after day. She became a part of our family the day we brought her home, and in many ways she is considered a rescue in my eyes. She is now SO well cared for and loved in her forever home!! All that so say, when the teacher asked me to help coordinate an animal related way to serve for Mission’s week naturally I thought of Equine Voices. We would love to bring their class out there, let them meet the horses, and if they can assist in chores to serve that would be great too!”

Boomer and Chester looked great and it was so good to be able to pat those necks again! :) Equine Voices is an amazing place and I’ll definitely be passing on the word about donating from Amazon…we who live out here in the middle of nowhere do a lot of Amazon shopping! ;) I really loved seeing Boomer and will definitely try to get back for more visiting when I can…I also appreciated meeting the other rescues and hearing their stories. Karen and all of you volunteers do amazing work and I consider you all Angels? Thank you!

"Jack and I had a most enlightening time with Erica and Bree today. We are terrier rescue folks and former horse riders. On our little homestead in N Idaho we have a 30 year old retired endurance mare and 3 companion mini donkeys 60 chickens and 4 dogs and 3 cats. We couldn’t imagine a life without our menagerie. We committed to staying in Green Valley for two months in 2018 and look forward to being of service to your organization. We have visited many rescue sites in our lives and yours if heads and shoulders above anything we have witnessed. Yours is truly the Peaceable Kingdom. Please tip our hats to Karen, the owner. As an animal communicator I heard nothing but pure peace from every sentient being! Well done good and faithful servants!

I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful tour you gave the 10 Sassy Saguaro Sisters. With such wonderful weather, it was delightful to spend almost 2 hours with the horses and hearing their stories. Many of us just enjoyed being able to pet them. The work you all are doing for these horses is amazing and will hopefully be sustainable for many years to come. There obviously is no shortage of horses in need. This was a real eye opener for all of us who had been so unaware. Thank you again for giving so freely of your time and expertise, and making our tour so very interesting!"
